The Planning Commission approved a new 10-story office building at 110 The Embarcadero, where an empty 2-story building next to Boulevard Restaurant currently sits.

According to the Chronicle’s City Insider today, the building will include solar panels, recycled wood, a wastewater recycling system, and all sorts of “green” vines and foilage on the exterior of the building.

While 110 feet is a bit high considering the building heights surrounding it on The Embarcadero (save the YMCA which is nearly that tall, I believe), I’m happy to hear this site’s boarded up exterior will soon (okay, so around 4 years from now) provide another retail space for the Rincon Hill neighborhood.

Thanks to Curbed SF for pointing me to the City Insider story!
